Buyer's Digest

Use this page as a product-first sourcing checkpoint before sending an RFQ. Category: Building Materials. Confirm application fit, capacity, materials, destination, lead time and compliance requirements before comparing suppliers.

Original product description

Product overview This carbon-fiber-reinforced technical calcium silicate board is designed for high-temperature insulation and refractory components in non-ferrous metal processing and other thermal-process equipment.

The listed model is NR-80, supplied as a grey or white block, with requested-size customization available. Supported product characteristics The board is described as having a density range of 800–1000 kg/m³ and a continuous-use temperature rating of 1000°C.

Carbon-fiber reinforcement is used to increase strength and help limit shrinkage. The material is also described as asbestos- and quartz-free, resistant to thermal shock, non-wetting to molten aluminum, and suitable for machining into close-tolerance or complex components.

Low thermal conductivity is intended to reduce heat loss in elevated-temperature service. Potential industrial uses Documented applications include furnace internal linings, continuous-caster tips, transition and baffle plates, gaskets, stoppers, trough liners, floats, spouts, head boxes, trough dams, and skim dams.

The board may also be used in molten-aluminum feeding, casting, and molding systems;metal-flow-control components;holding furnaces;die-casting units;heat-treatment equipment;and glass-industry clamping fixtures.

Buyer confirmation before ordering Operating conditions can differ substantially between furnaces, casting lines, and machined assemblies.

Buyers should confirm the exact density and grade, maximum continuous and intermittent temperatures, required dimensions and tolerances, finished-part geometry, machining responsibility, thermal conductivity data, shrinkage limits, mechanical properties, chemical exposure, installation method, and quantity.

Also confirm whether the selected grade is carbon-fiber reinforced, its suitability for the intended molten metal or thermal process, the required documentation, packaging configuration, production lead time, and shipping terms.

Requested-size availability does not by itself establish that every dimension, tolerance, or machined profile can be supplied.

Buyer tips

  • State quantity range and split-delivery needs before price comparison.
  • Add certification, material or inspection standards when they affect acceptance.
  • For time-sensitive projects, include target arrival date and destination.
  • For special applications, describe operating condition, installation environment and duty cycle.

FAQ

What should buyers confirm first?

Confirm application, specification, quantity, destination and lead-time requirements before comparing offers.

Can buyers inquire when specs are incomplete?

Yes. Add model, material, size, use case and inspection needs in the RFQ to make replies comparable.

How should this listing be evaluated?

Check title, category, specifications and related keywords against the actual sourcing requirement.
