Vietnam' s steel exports rose 41 per cENt year-on-year in January-September Vietnam' s steel exports increased year-on-year in both September and the first nine months, owing to weak domestic buying activity as a result of the embargo restrictions imposed in response and increased demand from Asean, the United States and Europe. Vietnam' s steel exports to Asean countries increased in the January-September period. Of this, steel exports to the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia increased by 64.5 per cENt, 20.4 per cENt and 19.6 per cENt, respectively. In addition, Vietnam has also increased steel exports to the European Union and the United States, mainly plate. Vietnam' s steel exports to the US rose about fivefold to 665,000 tonnes in the January-September period from a year earlier.
